Shark BBQ ala "Babe Lili"

Yesterday, due to heavy traffic jam around Harmoni area, we decided to hang-out for a while for dinner, First thing we would like to hang-out in Thamrin chasing for Burger King, but then seems all route to Thamrin jammed I decided to find another destination and after looking around for a while we decided to go to the famous “Ikan Bakar Babe Lili” in Wahid Hasyim, somewhere near patung Tani.

Like ordinary “ikan bakar” footstall, It is a modest “makan place” that occupying a spacious front yard that may be able to accommodate around 100 people, it’s a bit massy and moreover lot of BBQ smoke came from large fish grill.

Their speciallity is “Ikan Kambing Kambing”, I don’t know what it is exactly so we decided to order “BBQ Shark” ………. That become more popular recently, actually it is a baby shark or more known as “Ikan Cucut” in local market, don’t know what species it is, probably from “Black Tip Shark” or “"Carcharhinus limbatus” that very easy to find in Indonesian water.

The Dish it self is quiet delicious, it meat texture is very tender mixed between tenderness of Stingray and “Patin”, very tasty, moreover you won’t be bother with much fishbone like you’ll find in other fish. It server with their style sambal that is “very sweet”.

One thing that I concerned is about their food servants and captains, seems that they are not too excited with new customers arrival. In a glance, they more often to flock around in the back-end rather than to approach their customers. The captain who serving us seems quiet rush and inpatient to wait for us to choose some menus. Well, actually it may happen on traditional food store like this.

But the recommendation for their food is good, but a bit sweet dominating their species.
